Naveen Patnaik, the president of the opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD), has labeled the recent resignation of two Rajya Sabha MPs from his party as 'opportunistic.' The MPs, Mamata Mohanta and Sujeet Kumar, resigned and subsequently joined the ruling BJP.
Addressing the BJD youth wing, Patnaik clarified that the departure of these individuals had only fortified the organization. He urged young party members to work towards fulfilling the vision of a prosperous Odisha, as dreamed by former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, on whose principles the BJD is founded.
Criticizing the BJP, Patnaik accused the ruling party of defaulting on promises and relying on false claims. He underscored the importance of sincerity and social activities in politics to win the hearts of the people.
