New Delhi: In a major development, the Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy 'scam' case. Kejriwal's wife, Sunita, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to congratulate the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and express her hope for the release of other party leaders currently in Tihar jail.
A bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan provided relief to Kejriwal, stipulating a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh and two sureties. Additionally, the court directed him to refrain from making any public statements on the merits of the case.
Former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain remains in jail in an unrelated money laundering case being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Sunita Kejriwal praised the AAP family for their resilience throughout these legal battles and wished for the swift release of other detained leaders.
