Dramatic Rejections: 37 Candidates Out in Crucial J&K Assembly Scrutiny

During Friday's scrutiny, officials rejected the nominations of 37 candidates from 40 constituencies, which will go to the polls in the final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.
The final date for withdrawing nomination papers is September 16, while these seats are set to be contested on October 1.
The scrutiny, covering seven districts, validated the candidatures of 449 hopefuls. Of these, Jammu district has 113 candidates, Baramulla 107, Kupwara 75, Bandipora 46, Kathua 38, Udhampur 38, and Samba 32.
In accordance with the election notification, candidates wishing to withdraw must do so by September 16. Elections for the 90-member Assembly will be held in three phases: September 18, September 25, and October 1, with results announced on October 8.
