Former Odisha Chief Minister and BJD President Naveen Patnaik on Saturday stated that his party will conduct a comprehensive study on the 'One nation, one election' proposal before deciding on its stance.

Speaking at the 12th Odisha Literary Festival, organized by the New Indian Express, Patnaik said the party would closely examine the proposal and its potential execution. “Let the details emerge; we will study them and then take a stand,” he remarked.

Patnaik was critical of the new BJP government's law and order situation in Odisha, citing incidents involving Governor Raghubar Das’s son and the alleged violent harassment of an army officer and his fiancée at a major police station. He condemned these events and called for a judicial probe while Chief Minister Mohan Majhi promised stringent actions against those responsible.
