NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar on Sunday said that the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will conclude its seat-sharing talks within the next 8 to 10 days for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls. Pawar emphasized that the opposition alliance must strive to seize power in the state 'at any cost.'
Targeting individuals who left his party, Pawar claimed that not even a handful of them would win the state polls. Elections to the 288-member Maharashtra state assembly are expected to occur in mid-November, according to Pawar, who was addressing party workers in Baramati, Pune.
Pawar stated that the primary criterion for candidate selection would be electability and stressed the importance of flexibility and adjustments in coalition alliances. The MVA includes NCP(SP), Congress, and Shiv Sena (UBT). 'You can't contest all the seats; other partners need to field candidates and you have to support them,' he said. 'We must establish our government at any cost,' Pawar asserted.
