Delhi Police have beefed up security around the Bawana Police Station where Wangchuk is held. Atishi criticized the BJP and the Lt Governor, accusing them of dictatorship and expressing solidarity with Wangchuk and the people of Ladakh.

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and others lambasted the detention, questioning if Delhi is personal property and asserting everyone's right to enter the capital. Meanwhile, political condemnation poured in from across the spectrum, with accusations against the central government of undemocratic practices.
