Biden Denies Support for Israeli Strike on Iranian Nuclear Sites
President Joe Biden has clearly stated that he will not back an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear sites. In a phone call with G7 leaders, Biden discussed new sanctions against Iran and emphasized support for Israel while urging restraint in response to Iran's recent missile attack.
President Joe Biden has made it clear that he will not endorse an Israeli strike on sites linked to Tehran's nuclear program.
“The answer is no,” Biden stated emphatically on Wednesday when questioned about supporting such retaliation after Iran launched roughly 180 missiles at Israel on Tuesday.
Biden’s remarks came after a phone conversation with fellow Group of Seven leaders where they deliberated on new sanctions against Iran. The White House, in a subsequent statement, noted the G7 leaders' unanimous condemnation of Iran's act against Israel. Biden reiterated America's unwavering support for Israel and its people, while also signaling that the U.S. is advocating for Israel to show restraint in its reaction to Tuesday's missile attacks, which he described as “ineffective and defeated.”
