The Haryana assembly elections have delivered a resounding shock to several prominent leaders, with the Haryana Congress chief, assembly speaker, and a former deputy chief minister among those losing their seats. This dramatic turn of events highlights shifting political dynamics in the state.
Despite these setbacks, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged victorious, securing 48 seats to form the government for a third consecutive term. This victory comes against the backdrop of anti-incumbency and challenges faced during the recent Lok Sabha polls.
Noteworthy figures such as Indian National Lok Dal's Abhay Singh Chautala and BJP's Bhavya Bishnoi also faced defeat, signaling a significant political shakeup. The Congress, however, managed to capture 36 seats and was leading in another, according to the Election Commission.
