Union Minister G Kishan Reddy announced that the government will respond when necessary to demands for the reinstatement of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood while firmly declaring that Article 370's return is not on the table.
Speaking during an informal media interaction, Reddy, BJP's incharge for Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls, emphasized the successful and peaceful conduct of elections, noting an increase in BJP secured seats. He highlighted a higher voter turnout compared to Hyderabad's Assembly elections.
Reddy also praised the smooth execution of District Development Council and Block Development Council elections. Following Article 370's abrogation in 2019, the National Conference-Congress allied and secured a significant win in the maiden polls.
