TMC Unveils Candidates for West Bengal Assembly By-Elections
The Trinamool Congress announced candidates for the November 13 by-elections in six assembly constituencies in West Bengal. These by-elections are needed due to the resignation of MLAs who won the recent Lok Sabha elections. The party won five of these seats in the 2021 assembly elections, except Madarihat, previously held by the BJP.

In a strategic political move, the Trinamool Congress has revealed its candidate lineup for the forthcoming by-elections slated for November 13 in West Bengal. These elections are crucial as they cover six assembly constituencies.
The bypolls became necessary following the resignation of sitting MLAs who secured victories in the recent Lok Sabha elections. The TMC is aiming to maintain its political dominance in the region.
Announcing their candidates, the TMC named Sangita Roy for Sitai, Jay Prakash Toppo for Madarihat, Sanat Dey for Naihati, Sk Rabiul Islam for Haroa, Falguni Singhababu for Taldangra, and Sujoy Hazra for Medinipur. Notably, the party had previously won five of these seats in the 2021 assembly polls, except for Madarihat, which was in BJP's hands.
