Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Monday accused the West Bengal government of intentionally thwarting efforts to procure land for Border Security Force (BSF) outposts and essential infrastructure along the Bangladesh border, thereby jeopardizing national security.
Adhikari alleged that the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) led by Mamata Banerjee was compromising national security by blocking crucial measures to curb infiltration and cross-border crime, choosing to prioritize vote-bank politics over the protection of both the state and the country.
The TMC, however, rejected the accusations as groundless, claiming that Adhikari's allegations were merely an attempt to politicize the issue.
