China and Russia: A Strategic Bond in the New Era
Chinese President Xi Jinping has emphasized the strong, cooperative relationship between China and Russia. This comes months after a strategic partnership was formed that addresses key geopolitical issues. Xi is set to visit Russia in 2025, reinforcing the connection with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has reiterated the robust partnership between China and Russia, describing their advancement as moving "hand in hand" on the right path, according to Xinhua, the official Chinese news agency. This statement follows the announcement of a strategic partnership between the two nations earlier this year, aimed at addressing key global issues.
Last Friday, Russia's RIA news agency cited Moscow's ambassador to Beijing as saying that Xi plans to visit Russia in 2025. This intent was also reflected in an exchange of New Year greetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which Xi emphasized the mutual trust and strategic alignment between the two countries.
Xi highlighted that ongoing cooperation across various sectors will open new development opportunities. With both leaders expressing a mutual desire to maintain close ties, China-Russia relations continue to be a focal point on the international stage. Xi was warmly received in the Kremlin as a "dear friend" in 2023 after securing an unprecedented third term in office.
