Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has confidently affirmed his stance on the portrayal of Sree Narayana Guru, a revered sage and social reformer, cautioning against depicting him as an advocate of Sanatana Dharma.
During the Sivagiri pilgrimage conference, Vijayan asserted that Guru, known for promoting the principle of 'one caste, one religion, one God,' did not represent or practice Sanatana Dharma. Instead, he suggested that Guru redefined it to align with contemporary values.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused Vijayan of disrespecting Sanatana Dharma and Guru's followers, intensifying the political skirmish with claims that Vijayan's statements align with previous controversial remarks on the religious doctrine.
