The political scene in Rajasthan is ablaze with controversy following allegations of illegal phone tapping by the state's BJP government. On Thursday, Congress leader Ashok Gehlot alleged that the government tapped the phone of minister Kirodi Lal Meena without due permissions, labeling it a crime.

Gehlot, who previously served as the state's chief minister, urged the current CM Bhajanlal Sharma to address the issue in the assembly, just as Gehlot had done when similar allegations surfaced during his tenure. The controversy was reignited by Congress leader Sachin Pilot, who called for a transparent investigation into both past and present incidents.

Minister Kirodi Lal Meena recently claimed that his calls were being tapped, leading to further scrutiny. This comes amid accusations of corruption and political maneuvering, with Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra criticizing the BJP for allegedly threatening MLAs who dissent. The BJP has issued a show-cause notice to Meena, escalating the political tension in the state.
