Amid ongoing tensions in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has stressed the need for inclusive peace talks involving all stakeholders and emphasized the significant role Europe should play in them. Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Wang proclaimed China's willingness to step up its effort in promoting dialogue and understanding with the European Union.
On the international front, U.S. President Donald Trump's recent discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskiy have drawn criticism from European allies who are wary of being excluded from any resultant agreements. Ukraine remains firm in involving Kyiv in any bilateral agreements concerning its future.
Meanwhile, China's consistent call for dialogue and negotiation as the path forward in the crisis has seen it propose a leadership summit as a potential solution. The proposal, reportedly discussed with both the U.S. and Russia, underscores the need for a balanced and effective security framework to achieve long-lasting peace and stability in Europe.
