The Delhi Assembly witnessed heightened tensions on Tuesday as members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) clashed with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the tabling of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report. AAP MLA Gopal Rai emphasized the need for transparency, accusing the BJP of disrespecting iconic figures such as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

MLA Mukesh Ahlawat echoed Rai's sentiments, labeling the BJP's actions as anti-Dalit and anti-Sikh. Despite the suspension of multiple AAP MLAs, Ahlawat stated those remaining would ensure their presence when the CAG findings are presented. Adding to the controversy, Leader of Opposition Atishi accused the BJP of replacing portraits of Dr. Ambedkar with those of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in official spaces, questioning whether Modi's stature surpasses Ambedkar's.

Tensions peaked as Speaker Vijender Gupta suspended 12 AAP members, including Atishi and Rai. The session descended into chaos with AAP MLAs chanting slogans and demanding that Ambedkar's legacy be respected in the assembly, amidst ongoing protests against the BJP-led government's alleged financial misconduct.
