In a development with potential geopolitical ramifications, the Kremlin has dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump's assertion that Russia would support the deployment of European peacekeepers in Ukraine.
The Russian government directed journalists to a previous statement highlighting its stance that any such move would be unacceptable.
Trump had said on Monday that both he and Russian President Vladimir Putin were agreeable to the deployment. "Yeah, he will accept that," Trump stated, noting he had specifically asked Putin the question and received an affirmative response.
