Karnataka Congress to Prioritize Ground-Level Workers and Women's Representation

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar emphasized prioritizing Congress workers who deliver results, rather than those lobbying with Bengaluru leaders. The party will also focus on empowering women, following reservation policies. Shivakumar’s visit to Delhi aims to address state irrigation project concerns with Union Minister C R Patil.

In a move to strengthen grassroots involvement, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar announced that only Congress members who prove their efficacy in ground operations will be rewarded with positions of power.

Shivakumar criticized those who lobby for influence in Bengaluru and emphasized the need for dedicated workers in taluks. He noted that while a list of Congress office-bearers is prepared, it awaits submission to the High Command due to revisions focusing on hard-working individuals.

During his upcoming Delhi visit, Shivakumar plans to discuss irrigation challenges with Union Minister C R Patil, aiming for swift advancement of Karnataka's water resource projects.
