The political climate in Chhattisgarh has intensified following the Enforcement Directorate's raids on the residence of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his son, Chaitanya Baghel. Congress MP Manickam Tagore has staunchly defended Baghel, accusing the ED of acting on the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Tagore alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is behind the spread of false narratives to undermine Congress. He stood firm on Bhupesh Baghel's track record of addressing the challenges faced by the people of Chhattisgarh, suggesting that his efforts are being unfairly targeted by political adversaries.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao raised questions about scams during Baghel's tenure, justifying the ED's actions as part of a thorough ongoing investigation. The ED suspects a connection to a multi-crore liquor scam involving illegal money laundering. The raids spanned 14 locations, revealing potential collusion among government officials and liquor traders.
