In a show of discontent, Congress workers in Madhya Pradesh staged a significant protest on Monday, demanding action on unfulfilled promises to farmers by the ruling BJP. The protest, led by State Congress President Jitu Patwari and other key party figures, took place at Rang Mahal square in Bhopal.

The demonstrators aimed to surround the state assembly, prompting police to deploy water cannons to manage the situation. According to Congress chief Patwari, the protest was essential to hold the BJP accountable for its unkept commitments to women, farmers, and youth, emphasizing the crucial need for Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for rice and wheat.

Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar reiterated that the Congress would maintain pressure on the government, advocating for the rights of farmers across the state. Former minister Sachin Yadav criticized the administration for failing to honor procurement promises, vowing that the Congress remains steadfast in its fight for agricultural justice.
