Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has voiced strong criticism against the financial management of his predecessor, K Chandrasekhar Rao. Reddy compared the fiscal condition of the state to 'cancer' and accused Rao of leaving an economy struggling with mounting debts and financial mismanagement.
Speaking at a recent event, Reddy revealed the state generates Rs 18,000 to Rs 18,500 crore monthly, but over Rs 13,000 crore is already allocated to salaries and debt servicing, leaving scant resources for welfare programs and development projects.
He lamented the political backlash he faces whenever he highlights these challenges, asserting the need for transparency. Meanwhile, political tensions rise as BRS leaders criticize his remarks and governance.
