Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra is facing a breach of privilege notice in Maharashtra's legislative council after performing a parody song that targeted Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
BJP legislator Pravin Darekar accused Kamra and Shiv Sena spokesperson Sushma Andhare of contempt of the House, citing their disrespect towards legislative institutions.
Kamra, unyielding amidst the controversy, allegedly made defamatory remarks, leading to an FIR being registered against him. The comedian, currently in Puducherry, has been requested to appear for questioning.
