In a decisive move, Left parties have voiced their support for India's recent military operation, dubbed 'Operation Sindoor,' in response to the devastating Pahalgam terror attack. The operation was specifically designed to target terrorist infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, following the massacre of 26 civilians.
The Communist Party of India (CPI) stated, 'Given the grave provocation and loss of innocent lives, the response is deemed necessary to counteract terror sources.' The strikes, carried out by the Indian armed forces, successfully destroyed nine terror camps while avoiding military assets, showcasing a controlled and strategic approach aimed at accountability without sparking a wider conflict.
Meanwhile, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation called for de-escalation, urging both nations to engage in diplomacy. They highlighted concerns over cross-border firing and civilian casualties and stressed the need for political solutions and unity against terror and repression.
