ATHENS, May 7 - Greece has expressed support for an Arab-led initiative aimed at reconstructing the Gaza region, conditional on achieving a ceasefire. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized the necessity of ending hostilities to enable the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.
Following talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Athens, Mitsotakis described the reconstruction plan as a 'realistic basis' for discussions on post-war rebuilding efforts.
The meeting underscored Greece's commitment to the Middle Eastern peace process, emphasizing regional collaboration in addressing the humanitarian crisis and exploring pathways to sustainable development in Gaza.
