World Central Kitchen Faces Challenges in Gaza: Supply Halt amid Tensions
World Central Kitchen suspends aid operations in Gaza due to supply shortages and Israeli restrictions. The charity, founded by chef Jose Andres, has faced deadly attacks and allegations of aid misuse by Hamas. International pressure mounts on Israel to lift the blockade imposed since March.
In a recent development, the U.S.-based charity World Central Kitchen has ceased its operations in Gaza, citing a lack of supplies and obstruction by Israeli authorities in the delivery of aid.
Having served over 130 million meals and 26 million loaves of bread in the last 18 months, the organization announced this suspension via a social media post, urging international intervention as the blockade continues.
The halt follows rising tensions, with Israel alleging misappropriation of aid by Hamas, though international bodies call for an end to the Israeli restrictions imposed since March.
