Zahid Khan, a student of Jadavpur University, has been stranded in Srinagar due to the ongoing military clashes between India and Pakistan along the Line of Control. He had embarked on a journey from Kolkata intending to visit his family in Tangdhar, Kupwara, near the conflict zone.
Khan, who is pursuing a PhD in political science, expressed concern for his family who took refuge in a bunker amid the hostilities. The situation has forced him to remain at a friend's place, desperately waiting for the situation to improve so he can travel the last 200 km to his home village.
With shelling subsiding, Khan hopes to reunite with his elderly parents and siblings soon. Despite his family's fears for his safety, he feels compelled to be with them. Khan remains hopeful for a peaceful resolution, longing for an end to the drone attacks and shelling in the region.
