TMC Rallies for Migrant Workers' Rights Amid Alleged Detentions

TMC leaders traveled to Maharashtra to address the alleged detention of over 100 Bengali-speaking migrant workers on suspicion of being Bangladeshis. The initiative, led by Bishnupur MLA Dilip Mondal, included sending local leaders and police officials to secure their release, while TMC accused BJP of targeting Bengali-speaking communities.

TMC leaders embarked on a mission to Maharashtra following reports of the detention of over 100 migrant workers from West Bengal, suspected to be illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.

Bishnupur MLA Dilip Mondal stated that Sardar, a construction laborer from his constituency, was among those detained. In response, four leaders were dispatched to facilitate their release.

TMC has accused BJP of harassing Bengali-speaking migrants, claiming this is a targeted strategy in BJP-governed states. The allegations have been refuted by BJP, labeling the matter as politically motivated ahead of the next state assembly elections.
