Electoral Roll Controversy Sparks Protest in Bengaluru

Former minister H Nagesh has requested a copy of a complaint regarding alleged forged entries in Bengaluru's Mahadevapura constituency electoral rolls, but the Chief Electoral Officer's office claims no record of such a complaint exists. The Congress party plans to protest on August 5 over perceived electoral manipulation.

In a controversial turn of events, former minister H Nagesh has approached the Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka, seeking a copy of a complaint submitted in April 2023, which accuses electoral roll manipulation in Bengaluru's Mahadevapura constituency.

The Chief Electoral Officer's office, however, denies ever receiving this complaint, prompting Nagesh to demand a copy due to Congress misplacing its document records.

This development adds fuel to the Congress party's protest plans against alleged large-scale electoral fraud in 2023 elections, with top leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, expected to lead the demonstration.
