On Saturday, the Congress party unveiled a refreshed list of 71 district presidents for Madhya Pradesh, significantly highlighting leaders from the Other Backward Classes (OBC), along with Dalits and tribals, reinforcing its commitment to diverse representation.
Notably, party stalwart Digvijaya Singh's son, former state minister Jaivardhan Singh, has been appointed the district president for Guna. The reorganization comes as part of a broader strategy rooted in Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's vision of inclusivity, particularly focusing on OBC, SC, and ST categories.
The announcement, made by AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal, follows Gandhi's 'Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan' campaign aimed at revitalizing the party's structure ahead of upcoming assembly elections in 2028, as the Congress seeks to regain its foothold in a state predominantly controlled by the BJP since 2003.
