Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded Radhakrishnan, highlighting his rich history of service to the nation in various positions. The announcement came on Sunday, drawing attention to his seasoned career path in both governmental and parliamentary roles.
Radhakrishnan's nomination follows a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as revealed by BJP president J. P. Nadda. He expressed optimism that opposition parties would support the NDA's candidate, with the election slated for September 9 and nominations closing on August 22 after the resignation of the current vice-president Jagdeep Dhankhar.
