China's Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, arrived in India on Monday for a pivotal round of border discussions, as both nations aim to advance their diplomatic ties. His visit seeks to fulfill significant understandings between Chinese and Indian leaders, following a series of talks on boundary negotiations.

This two-day visit marks the 24th round of Special Representatives talks, with Wang engaging India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The discussions build on outcomes from the 23rd round, held in Beijing, as well as dialogue mechanisms revived during a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping.

According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, the goal is to enhance high-level exchanges, bolster political trust, and sustain peace along the border. Wang plans to further engage with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, coinciding with preparations for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.
