In addition, BJD President Naveen Patnaik announced several new appointments within the party, assigning district presidents and general secretaries for women's affairs in key regions.

Snehangini Chhuria, a distinguished former minister and Dalit leader, has been elevated to the position of president for the BJD women's wing, as confirmed on Thursday. Her appointment is set to take effect immediately.

The announcement came alongside BJD President Naveen Patnaik's decision to appoint 15 leaders into senior roles, focusing on women's affairs. Among the appointees, Sumitra Jena, Rajashree Mallick, and Lekhasri Samantsinghar have been named as senior general secretaries for women's affairs.

Furthering the organizational restructuring, Patnaik revealed the new district presidents for Dhenkanal, Koraput, and Rayagada. Former minister Nrusingha Charan Sahu will oversee Dhenkanal, ex-MP Jhina Hikaka will manage Koraput, and former minister Jagannath Saraka will lead Rayagada.
