In a recent address, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reminisced about political decisions made during the 2017 civic elections in Mumbai, where the BJP, despite having numbers, ceded the mayoral post to Shiv Sena.
The decision came upon the request of Eknath Shinde and Milind Narvekar to alleviate Uddhav Thackeray's disappointment. Fadnavis criticized Shiv Sena's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, accusing it of rampant corruption and inefficiency.
While acknowledging development projects like Asia's largest urban renewal scheme, Fadnavis talked about the upcoming challenges in AI and quantum computing and decongestion infrastructure projects like the Versova-Bhayandar corridor to improve city transport.
