Congress Criticizes Modi’s Foreign Policy: Saudi-Pakistan Pact Raises Concerns

The Congress party strongly criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign policy following a defense pact signed between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. The agreement, which ensures mutual defense cooperation, is seen as a setback for India's strategic interests, according to Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala.

Surjewala emphasized that the deal compromises India's national security, as it aligns one of India's closest Gulf trading partners with Pakistan, a nation labeled as a perpetrator of terror by India. He pointed out that while Modi has cultivated personal ties with Saudi Arabia, bilateral security relations have floundered. The Congress sees the Saudi-Pakistan pact as emblematic of failed diplomacy, undermining national security and highlighting the limitations of personalized international relations.
