Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder Vijay has launched a sharp critique on the ruling DMK government, alleging it imposes numerous restrictions on his political events. Speaking at a rally in Puthur, Vijay questioned whether similar measures would be taken during visits by the Prime Minister or Home Minister.
Vijay accused the government of impeding his political activities by disrupting power and limiting his freedom of movement. He warned that if such tactics were used during high-profile visits, the government could face backlash. The 2026 contest, he declared, is solely between TVK and DMK.
He also questioned Chief Minister Stalin's foreign trips, suggesting they might serve personal investment interests rather than Tamil Nadu's welfare. Vijay criticized the DMK's neglect of Nagapattinam's development and accused them of inaction on fishermen and Sri Lankan Tamils. He emphasized his commitment to finding lasting solutions to these issues.
