In a crucial statement on Monday, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi urged the NDA government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, not to yield to pressure from US President Donald Trump's administration.
The warning comes in the wake of the Trump administration's decision to raise the H-1B visa fee to USD 100,000, a move Owaisi claims will significantly affect Indians, who make up about 71 percent of H-1B visa holders, with a majority from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Owaisi questioned the tangible benefits of high-profile gatherings like 'Howdy Modi' and emphasized the importance of establishing trade agreements in rupee terms amid rising calls for de-dollarization. He also criticized the interactions between Pakistan's military leadership and the US, which he implied offered more substantial developments than India's engagements.
