Anurag Thakur, former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP, marked the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri with tributes at an Awahdevi function. Thakur emphasized the enduring influence of their philosophies and leadership on India and beyond.
During the event, Thakur underscored Gandhi's principles of non-violence and truth, pivotal to India's independence and global civil rights movements. He also celebrated Shastri's humility and leadership in the 1965 war, alongside his resonant slogan, 'Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan.'
Concluding the BJP's Seva Pakhwada campaign, Thakur led a GST awareness rally for shopkeepers and participated in a cleanliness drive at Samirpur market, advocating for citizen involvement in building a self-reliant India. Other BJP leaders and District President Rakesh Thakur attended.
