In a bold statement from Colombia, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has raised concerns about a 'wholesale attack on the democratic system' in India. He emphasized the importance of preserving India's diverse traditions and ideas, noting the contrast with China's authoritarian model.
Gandhi, speaking at EIA University, highlighted India's complex societal structure, rich spiritual traditions, and progressive ideas, expressing his optimism for the nation's future. However, he cautioned about the existing internal risks, primarily the erosion of democratic principles.
During his South American tour, Gandhi also engaged in discussions with Colombian President Senate Lidio Gracia, illustrating his broader diplomatic outreach while underscoring India's commitment to democratic values.
