Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the tragic bus fire that occurred on the route from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur, claiming 20 lives. Speaking on Wednesday, Shekhawat also confirmed that 16 passengers are currently receiving treatment in a Jodhpur hospital.
In the aftermath of this devastating event, Shekhawat revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an immediate relief fund of Rs 2 lakh for the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma personally visited the victims in Jaisalmer and Jodhpur to ensure comprehensive medical care is provided.
Amid the ongoing grief, members of the community have voiced their frustration regarding delays in DNA testing and the lack of medical personnel. Nitesh Chauhan, who lost his brother in the incident, criticized the slow response, citing the need for timely support. Authorities are making concerted efforts to identify and assist the victims' families while releasing helpline numbers for public assistance.
