In a move that surprised many in political circles, Prashant Kishor announced on Wednesday that he would not be contesting the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. This decision by the Jan Suraaj Party founder has been interpreted by opposition parties as an admission of failure.

The RJD was quick to criticize Kishor, with spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwary claiming that Kishor 'realized' defeat was imminent, even before the elections commenced. Similar sentiments were echoed by BJP and JD(U) representatives, who described Kishor's decision as an embarrassment for his party.

Kishor, once poised to challenge RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in Raghopur, will instead watch as his party fields Chanchal Singh for the seat. The Jan Suraaj Party has announced 116 candidates so far, as Bihar prepares for elections on November 6 and 11, with results due on November 14.
