NCP (SP) general secretary Rohit Pawar has called for the removal of a Pune college principal from the Maharashtra government's youth and sports policy committee. This follows allegations of caste bias made by a former Dalit student.
The student claimed that Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce withheld his job verification, a charge refuted by the institution, which asserts that the necessary document was sent to his UK-based employer and that his job was not affected.
Pawar accused the college of promoting 'Manuvadi' ideology and demanded the principal's removal. He emphasized the need for a committee that supports overseas job opportunities for youth rather than harboring caste-related biases.
