In a statement on Tuesday, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari expressed optimism about Delhi's air quality, which he claims is improving due to strict regulations and technological advancements. Tiwari suggested that in two and a half years, Delhi would become more breathable. Despite using green firecrackers this Diwali, the Air Quality Index (AQI) is better than in past Septembers.

Tiwari responded to criticism from Delhi AAP President Saurabh Bharadwaj, who accused the BJP-led government of failing to control post-Diwali pollution. Bharadwaj criticized the government for allegedly collaborating with private hospitals and for false promises of inducing artificial rain to alleviate pollution. Residents like Sagar voiced frustration over the persisting issues.

Current air quality data from the Central Pollution Control Board shows Delhi's AQI at 357, categorized as 'very poor.' Such air conditions can cause significant health risks. Although legal restrictions on fireworks were eased this year, authorities continue to implement stricter measures like Stage 2 of the Graded Response Action Plan to combat air pollution. (ANI)
