Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday met RJD president Lalu Prasad in a strategical attempt to alleviate tensions within the INDIA bloc amidst a turbulent pre-election environment in Bihar.

Following the meeting, Gehlot emphasized the critical importance of winning the Bihar election for the opposition alliance, especially after setbacks in Maharashtra, but avoided confirming Congress’ stance on endorsing Tejashwi Yadav as chief ministerial candidate.

Gehlot highlighted the cooperative dynamics between Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, referencing their earlier Voter Adhikar Yatra collaboration, and expressed optimism that electoral strategy disagreements would be resolved imminently.
