The Congress party issued a fierce condemnation of alleged 'vote theft' in Karnataka's Aland Assembly, labeling it a direct attack on democracy. This came after a Karnataka Special Investigation Team (SIT) identified at least six suspects in the alleged voter fraud scandal.
According to the Congress, the SIT discovered evidence that Rs 80 was paid per voter deletion, exposing a substantial electoral scam. They claim fake applications were processed from Kalaburagi to erase the names of 6,018 voters, with a total payout of 4.8 lakh rupees.
This revelation spurred Congress to escalate its campaign against the BJP, accusing it of undermining the rights of the poor. They plan to utilize this issue as a pivotal strategy in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
