PDP Backs NC in Strategic Rajya Sabha Move

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) announced its decision to support the ruling National Conference (NC) in the Rajya Sabha elections scheduled for Friday. The move, revealed by PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, aims to thwart the Bharatiya Janata Party's influence in the polls.

Mehbooba Mufti emphasized the decision as crucial, despite her reservations about NC, describing it as a necessary step to counter 'fascist forces'.

The decision followed a series of discussions with party leadership and their MLAs, and preceded a personal request from NC president Farooq Abdullah and a meeting with NC candidate Shammi Oberoi.
