Kanwar Lal Meena, a former BJP MLA from the Anta seat in Baran district, faced a serious injury while serving his prison sentence in Jhalawar jail. He reportedly sustained a spinal fracture after a fall in the bathroom, confirmed an official source.
Nandram, the prison's jailor, stated that the incident unfolded on Wednesday evening. Following the accident, Meena was immediately transported to Jhalawar's government medical college and hospital for urgent care.
Meanwhile, as the Anta assembly seat eyes a bypoll on November 11, the political competition intensifies. Congress has put forward Pramod Jain Bhaya, whereas BJP has selected Morpal Suman as their candidate. An Independent candidate, Naresh Meena, has also entered the race.
