The President recounted conversations with leaders from both nations, including India's Prime Minister Modi and a Pakistani Field Marshal, stating that trade deals with the US would be off the table unless hostilities ceased. This strategy, according to Trump, led to an end to the conflict within 24 hours.

However, India maintains that the ceasefire was reached after direct talks between military officials, not due to US intervention. The intense conflict had erupted following India's targeted operations in response to terrorist attacks, culminating in a mutual understanding on May 10 to halt further hostilities.
