Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called for a two-thirds majority for the NDA in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, presenting it as a meaningful tribute to India's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, with results expected on November 14. Speaking at a rally, Singh criticized the RJD's previous rule as 'goonda raj' and lauded Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for improving the state's condition.
Singh accused opposition parties, including the RJD and Congress, of tarnishing the reputation of constitutional bodies like the Election Commission. He emphasized the need for Bihar to stay on the path of development rather than revert to previous governance marred by lawlessness. The minister also accused the opposition of making unrealistic promises, specifically highlighting RJD's pledge to provide a government job to every household.
Rajnath Singh, highlighting the NDA's accomplishments, noted Bihar's GDP growth under Nitish Kumar's leadership. He compared the state's financial allocations under NDA and UPA rules and criticized the opposition's attempts to infringe the Waqf Act amendments. Singh asserted BJP's stance on clean and inclusive politics, free from caste and religion bias.
