Decades of Diplomacy: NSCN(IM)'s Persistent Negotiations with India

NSCN(IM) leader Th Muivah highlights the organization's 28-year negotiation with the Indian government, rooted in the 1997 ceasefire agreement. NSCN(IM) leader Th Muivah has emphasized the organization's enduring negotiations with the Indian government over the past 28 years. His comments were made during a function in Senapati town.

The 1997 ceasefire between NSCN(IM) and the Center, resulting from over 80 negotiation rounds across 18 years, marked a significant step towards peace after decades of insurgency since 1947.

Despite unresolved demands like a separate Naga flag and constitution, NSCN(IM) persists in talks, as parallel negotiations occur with WC-NNPGs, a coalition of Naga groups. The United Naga Council insists on an 'honourable' political resolution based on the Framework Agreement.
