MNF's Lalthangliana Reinstates Political Stronghold in Dampa
MNF leader Dr R Lalthangliana was sworn in as a legislator after winning the Dampa by-election, marking his seventh term as an MLA. Lalthangliana, a veteran in Mizo politics, overcame the ZPM's Vanlalsailova by 562 votes. His extensive political career started in 1989 with the MNF party.

Veteran Mizo politician Dr R Lalthangliana was sworn in as a legislator after his recent victory in the Dampa by-election.
Lalthangliana, who secured a seventh MLA term, took his oath in a ceremony attended by state dignitaries, including the Chief Minister and MNF President.
He defeated the ZPM candidate, securing 40% of the votes, and continues a storied political career that began in 1989.
